1
Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest
of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and
came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. 2 And the angel of the
LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a
bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and
the bush was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside,
and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4 And when
the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out
of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here
am I. 5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from
off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face;
for he was afraid to look upon God.
7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people
which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their
taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; 8 And I am come down to deliver
them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out
of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with
milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites,
and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come
unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians
oppress them. 10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh,
that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out
of Egypt.
11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh,
and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?
12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be
a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought
forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children
of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath
sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what
shall I say unto them? 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM:
and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I
AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus
shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your
fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,
hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my
memorial unto all generations.
16 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them,
The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and
of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and
seen that which is done to you in Egypt: 17 And I have said, I will
bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the
Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites,
and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk
and honey. 18 And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt
come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and
ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with
us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into
the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God. 19 And
I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by
a mighty hand. 20 And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt
with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after
that he will let you go. 21 And I will give this people favour in
the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when
ye go, ye shall not go empty: 22 But every woman shall borrow of
her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of
silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon
your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.

1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe
me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath
not appeared unto thee. 2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that
in thine hand? And he said, A rod. 3 And he said, Cast it on the
ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and
Moses fled from before it. 4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth
thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand,
and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand: 5 That they may
believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.
6 And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into
thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took
it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow. 7 And he said, Put
thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom
again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned
again as his other flesh. 8 And it shall come to pass, if they will
not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign,
that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. 9 And it shall
come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither
hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the
river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest
out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.
10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent,
neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant:
but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. 11 And the LORD said
unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or
deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? 12 Now therefore
go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt
say. 13 And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of
him whom thou wilt send. 14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled
against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother?
I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth
to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and
I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you
what ye shall do. 16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people:
and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and
thou shalt be to him instead of God. 17 And thou shalt take this
rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.
18 And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and
said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren
which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro
said to Moses, Go in peace. 19 And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian,
Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy
life. 20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon
an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the
rod of God in his hand. 21 And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou
goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before
Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart,
that he shall not let the people go. 22 And thou shalt say unto
Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:
23 And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and
if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even
thy firstborn.
24 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met
him, and sought to kill him. 25 Then Zipporah took a sharp stone,
and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and
said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me. 26 So he let him go:
then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.
27 And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.
And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him. 28
And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him,
and all the signs which he had commanded him. 29 And Moses and Aaron
went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:
30 And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto
Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people. 31 And the
people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the
children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction,
then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

1 Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he
fighting daily oppresseth me. 2 Mine enemies would daily swallow
me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.
3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. 4 In God I will praise
his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh
can do unto me. 5 Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts
are against me for evil. 6 They gather themselves together, they
hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
7 Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people,
O God.
8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle:
are they not in thy book? 9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine
enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. 10 In God will
I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word. 11 In God
have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver
my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of
the living?

1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul
trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my
refuge, until these calamities be overpast. 2 I will cry unto God
most high; unto God that performeth all things for me. 3 He shall
send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would
swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.
4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set
on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows,
and their tongue a sharp sword. 5 Be thou exalted, O God, above
the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth. 6 They have prepared
a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit
before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.
7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and
give praise. 8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself
will awake early. 9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people:
I will sing unto thee among the nations. 10 For thy mercy is great
unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. 11 Be thou exalted,
O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing
me witness in the Holy Ghost, 2 That I have great heaviness and
continual sorrow in my heart. 3 For I could wish that myself were
accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the
flesh: 4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and
the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the
service of God, and the promises; 5 Whose are the fathers, and of
whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed
for ever. Amen.
6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they
are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 Neither, because they
are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall
thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the
flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the
promise are counted for the seed. 9 For this is the word of promise,
At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. 10 And not
only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our
father Isaac; 11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having
done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election
might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said
unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13 As it is written,
Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God
forbid. 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will
have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth,
but of God that sheweth mercy. 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh,
Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew
my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout
all the earth. 18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy,
and whom he will he hardeneth. 19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why
doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20 Nay but,
O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed
say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21 Hath not
the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel
unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22 What if God, willing
to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much
longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23 And
that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels
of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24 Even us, whom
he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which
were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. 26 And
it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto
them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children
of the living God. 27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though
the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,
a remnant shall be saved: 28 For he will finish the work, and cut
it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make
upon the earth. 29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of
Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made
like unto Gomorrha.
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not
after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness
which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of
righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32
Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by
the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and
rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
