God
created the earth for his glory. However the earth does not give him
the glory he deserves because most people work for their own ends
instead of his. But it will do so one day. He has said (Numbers 14:21)
"As
surely as I live, all the earth will be filled with the glory of
the Lord as the waters cover the sea."
Until
he brings that about, his people can only do their own personal share
of giving him glory. This is done by submitting to him as the
all wise Father who knows what is good for his children and gives
it to them. (1 Peter 5:6) For though he is Almighty, in his great
love he cares and provides for those who trust in him.
Submitting
isn't just an action, it is a process that goes on through life.
As we learn more and more of what God's will is, we are better able
to submit to that will. Don't think it's easy -- nothing is harder
for human nature -- but God will give you strength to do it. Remember
how Paul said "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens
me"? (Philippians 4:13)
It's a case of being guided by God everyday and every hour of the
day. Each morning you should approach him in prayer and ask him
to direct you and help you to obey. You can stay with him all day
for he has said "I will never leave you or forsake you" (Hebrews
13:5)

If
we're not with him, it's because we've left him, not because he's
left us. We leave him every time we act on our own will -- go our
own way -- decide things out of our own wisdom.
Submitting
is good for us because it's right. We are creatures, we've been
created. God is the Creator. His creatures should allow him to work
on them and respond to his guidance. They should do only those things
which are a reflection of what he does. This way, and only in this
way, they can find true happiness and contentment.
That
idea is the final part of this message to you. We have talked about
how you can take control of your lives by letting God control you.
We hope you'll be able to see now that problems shrink and even
fade away when you're living in submission to God's will. You come
to know that "in all things God works for the good of those who
love him". (Romans 8:28) You see, we're back on the subject of love.
We can never get far away from it, for it's the most important thing
in the world. More than anything else, we want you to know God's
love and to reflect it in your life. Because God is love.
